Motion (Laws of Physics, part 1)

She hasn’t seen him for two and a half years and hasn’t been able to move on. Now, she’s snowed in with a hostile Abram and a group of her brother’s friends.

Abram is now the lead singer of a popular rock band. Mona is also successful in her field. Still, she’s lonely. Mona believes she won’t have a happy ending with Abram. She’s had to fight for every scrap of attention she’s had. Even her brother is kind of a jerk in this one.

Time (Laws of Physics, part 3)

I devoured this series. I didn’t stop between books to reflect on the stories because I was powerless to the pull that is Mona’s and Abram’s world. Almost overnight, Abram has reached rockstar status. Abram is definitely my book boyfriend. We see Mona work through so many of her issues in this one. Abram and Mona struggle through a long distance relationship, but their love never wanes.

It’s a satisfying and beautiful final novella in this series. These three are quite possibly my favorite Penny Reid books, too. Go forth and read!

Misadventures on the Night Shift

This book is a perfect and naughty fantasy. We meet Abby, a woman who is working the night shift at a fancy hotel, which allows her time to study for law school during her shift. She has plenty of time to study, at least until the hottest rock star in the country walks in, fresh off the concert where he’d had a public meltdown on stage. Abby and the rockstar, Lucas Ford, get into a flirtatious argument. That is the beginning of a really hot story.

Abby has had it drilled into her to be ashamed of her sexuality and proclivities. She certainly has done some terrible things, but nothing illegal. Through her erotic relationship with Lucas, she starts learning that she shouldn’t be ashamed of her kinks. She also becomes Lucas’s muse.

This is one of my favorite rockstar romances. It’s an erotic romance, with a lot of incredibly steamy scenes. On top of that, it’s well-written and the characters show personal growth. Lucas encourages Abby to follow her dreams. He even helps her out by taking a concrete action. My favorite thing about this novel is that Abby is an amazing person and that she can and should be a sexual being without shame. This is one of my favorite books in the “Misadventure” series and I found it to be an incredibly satisfying story.

Misadventures with a Rockstar

Heather reluctantly tags along with her roommate, Susie, to a groupies party for the band Emerald Phoenix. She assumes that the lead singer, Jett, is a manwhore since he’s covered with scantily clad women and watching said women put on a show of sorts for the band (girl-on-girl action). He is. Or was. Lately, the lifestyle is losing its appeal. Jett’s eye is turned by the pretty Heather Myles and he’s determined to get to know her.

Though Heather rejects him and heads home, she’s caught mid-touching herself by her roommate and Jett. This is when they start getting to know each other. The romance proceeds quickly – and suddenly Heather decides to throw caution to the wind and say yes to Jett.

Of course, Jett has secrets of his own. Secrets that don’t allow him to get emotionally involved. Can these two overcome obstacles that are determined to keep them apart?

This book is an erotic fiction novel and part of the “Misadventures” series. In this particular book, you will find all manner of erotic scenes, along with a satisfying story of rockstar-loves-regular-woman. Even with some of the serious subject matter presented in the book, it still manages to be a fairly light read, at a novella length. It’s a great read for any rockstar romance obsessed reader!

Misadventures with a Country Boy

Enter Cole Timmons, a former soldier and who happens to be an expert at leaving. That is until he sees a woman who looks out of place at the gas station in the middle of nowhere. A woman who looks like she needs a friend. He steps in to help her and she reluctantly accepts his help. This pop princess and country loner are complete opposites, or are they?

The Misadventures books are known for their extremely steamy scenes and this story about Brooke and Cole delivers. You have the steam, the scary experiences, and some unexpected twists that bring the characters together.

Good Girl

Jenny Dawson didn’t mean to become a famous country singer, but she did! After her latest record goes double platinum, Jenny finds herself one of the town’s biggest stars and at the center of a scandal with a pop star she’s only met once! Fleeing to a remote mansion in Louisiana, she intends to write her next album without the paparazzi following her every move. The only problem? Noah, the brooding caretaker, whose judgements of her are causing constant bickering and simmering heat.

Noah has his own secrets, like that he’s really Preston Noah Maxell Walcott, the owner of the mansion. But the charade gives him time to escape his own problems as well as fix up the mansion he didn’t even know he owned. Is the fire that burns between them enough once the real world intrudes?

I really enjoyed escaping into the Louisiana days and nights of this novel. It’s a sweet novel with misunderstandings, bickering, and all of the heat we want in a romance novel. And yes, the dog is okay!

Dirty Like Me

by Jaine Diamond

I’ve just started this 6 book series and I’m already a huge fan! Katie Bloom doesn’t have her crap together and I kind of love her for it. She’s a struggling barista/artist who arrives to her friend’s posh talent agency soaking wet, with her wet dog, and some tiny cherry pies. She locks eyes with Jesse Mayes, rock god, and she’s rather turned on. She doesn’t know who he is and she awkwardly offers him her cherry pie. Can we say adorably awkward?? Katie lands a coveted role in Jesse’s next music video which leads Jesse to offer Katie a longer term gig – that as his fake girlfriend for the duration of his tour.

I adore the way Jaine Diamond’s mind works and writes the funny scenes. I’m a huge fan of this book and I recommend it as a great introduction to the series.

Dirty Like Brody

Jessa Mayes is the sister of the hero from the first book in this series and while it can definitely be read alone, I think it helps to have read “Dirty Like Me” first. You don’t get a huge amount of background on Brody in previous books, but you do get a lot about Jessa. Anyway, if you choose to read this one first, that’s fine, too!

These two characters are actually rather damaged and that doesn’t make them any less beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed the writing and the wonderful world that Ms. Diamond has created, though I did wonder between 60%-80% if these two characters could actually have made it in real life (probably not). However, I could really relate with Jessa as she keeps a very high wall around here and only shows people what she wants them to see. No one really knows Jessa Mayes, even though she’s a well known model and the sister of a famous rock star.

I actually rather admire the pace of this book, as you get enough flashbacks to whet your appetite to find out exactly what the hell happened to Jessa or what she did to become the way she is and we are rewarded for our patience with an interesting back story.

I can’t wait to read Dirty Like Seth, the next book in this series.

Final thoughts on rockstar romance books

While I’m unlikely to ever meet and fall in love with a rockstar (which is fine, because the logistics are hell), I still love a good tale about a famous musician meeting a regular person. The books listed are some that I really enjoyed and wanted to share with the world of rockstar romance loving people!
