Life is pretty crazy right now, isn’t it? Not crazy in the crazy-busy way, but crazy in the “I can’t believe this is happening way.” It’s a cliche to say “in these trying times,” but I’m going to say it anyway! In these trying times, I need a good romance novel with a happy ending. All of these hot romance novels fit into that requirement and are also well-written.

Here is a list of some solid stories with steamy romance!

Fix Her Up

By Tessa Bailey

Georgette Castle is the oddball of her family. She’s the only child who doesn’t work for the family’s renovation business and instead, is a birthday party clown. When she finds out her brother’s best friend and down on his luck pro-athlete, Travis Ford is in town, Georgie concocts a plan to help them both. If the pair pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend, Georgie believes she’ll seem more respectable and grown up to her family and they will start taking her seriously.

Travis agrees to fake-date Georgie to help him land a job, only to discover that he doesn’t want to keep his hands off her. Will this pair give in to their lust and have a happy ending?

I loved this book. The characters are relatable (yes, even the pro-athlete who is called Two-Bats for a reason). Even though you know where it’s going, it is so much fun to get there. It’s a great pretending to date novel. It’s also super, extra steamy. Modern slang is used for body parts.

Series: Hot and Hammered, Book 1
Themes: Fake dating, dating a pro-athlete
Steam level: Hot, heavy sexual language used

Waiting for Tom Hanks

by Kerry Winfrey

Annie Cassidy is an aspiring screen writer, who is dreaming of meeting Tom Hanks. Well, not THE Tom Hanks, but the real life version who can star in her very own, real life romantic comedy. When she gets a job working on a movie shooting in her hometown, she hopes to get her meet cute AND a movie writing deal. When she spills coffee on the movie’s lead actor, she knows he isn’t the one. Or is he?

This book was so lovely. It brought back some major nostalgia for me because I used to live in German Village, Columbus, Ohio, where the book takes place. The characters are wonderful, with great dialogue and well written scenes. German Village, which is a beautiful area of Ohio’s capitol city, is portrayed incredibly well, down to every detail.

Annie is obsessed with Rom-Coms and I think most romantic fiction fans can relate heavily to this. It’s a well written book with a satisfying ending.

Themes: Famous person,
Steam level:Some heavy sexual language used

Butterface

by Avery Flynn

Gina Luca isn’t classically beautiful. She’s not even considered cute. She’s known as Butterface, because her body looks great, “but her face…?”

Gina has (mostly) put her highschool trauma behind her and gone one to become a successful wedding planner. But when she’s thrown together on a wedding Kiss Cam with the hottest cop in Waterbury, the resulting kiss is jaw-droppingly hot.

It’s refreshing to read about a heroine that isn’t perfect, but is indeed perfect for the hero. She is relatable in her pain and distrust of a good thing, because she doesn’t feel like she’s good enough for our hunky hero.  We the readers know the real question is Ford Hartigan good enough for our girl, Gina? Or is he just around her to figure out if she’s connected to the mob like rest of her family?

The Hartigans series feature strong women characters who aren’t typical romance heroines. And of course, plenty of hot, steamy scenes to keep us all interested!

Series: The Hartigans, Book 1
Themes: Unusual heroine
Steam level: Hot, heavy sexual language used

Muffintop

Book 2 in The Hartigans series features our heroine, Lucy, a big and beautiful woman. After getting fat-shamed in a bar for her food choices, Frankie Hartigan jumps to her rescue. Rescue she doesn’t need, being the awesome and strong woman that she is, but she appreciates it anyway. Mr. Judgey-Pants who concern-trolled her and had the NERVE to rate her looks had caught her on a bad day.

But Frankie the fireman, with his bad-boy reputation, appealed to Lucy more than she’d like to admit. When he’s forced on vacation during the same time Lucy needs to make a long roadtrip to visit her father, Frankie convinces Lucy to take him along.

I just loved this book. It made my heart soar to read descriptions of Lucy and her larger than the usual romance heroines and her oh-so-hot love life. Avery Flynn is skilled at bringing people and relationships to life. This book kept me intrigued through the whole journey to our happily-ever-after.

Series: The Hartigans, Book 2
Themes: Unusual heroine, Big, beautiful woman
Steam level: Hot, heavy sexual language used

The Unhoneymooners

by Christina Lauren

Olive Torres is the unlucky twin – she’s been laid off recently and her life is filled with comical mishaps. She thinks she’s jinxed. Her twin sister is getting married and Olive has to spend time with the best man, Ethan Thomas. She loathes her sister’s future brother-in-law, but tries to make nice for the wedding.

Except Olive and Ethan are the only two from the wedding who don’t succumb to food poisoning. It’s so severe, Olive and Ethan end up on the non-refundable honeymoon together! And of course, they have to pretend to be married… while sharing the honeymoon suite.

This book is filled with mishaps and running into people you don’t want to run into when you’re on a fake honeymoon. Olive and Ethan have to come to to a truce and then, they get to know each other. Though the secrets that come out in the end threaten to destroy several relationships, our heroine does grow. This was a great read!

Themes: Fake marriage

The Virgin Club

by Kayley Wood

Emma is a 23 year old virgin. This wasn’t a problem until her friends started pairing off, leaving her wanting more in her love life, too. Or at least to lose her virginity. Under the influence of one apple-tini too many, she writes a “Lose My Virginity Challenge” post and her blog suddenly goes viral (oh, one can dream!)

With the clock ticking, Emma sets her sights on her super hot coworker, Logan. And though Logan is hot enough to melt panties, her new boss, the just as hot but more confusing Alex, complicates things.

Oh my, oh my, I enjoyed this book! There are enough twists to keep it interesting, plus, you meet characters who have their own books later in the series. I really enjoyed this take on the virgin and billionaire boss genre!

Series: Club Series, Book 1
Themes: Virgin, Billionaire Boss
Steam level: Hot enough
